Welcome to The Ferro Foundation, a dedicated and compassionate non-profit organization committed to making a positive impact in the lives of veterans on Long Island, first-generation college students, and other underserved groups. Our mission is rooted in providing essential support and resources to these distinct yet equally deserving communities, fostering empowerment, growth, and a brighter future.
Our Mission
At The Ferro Foundation, our mission is multifaceted. We strive to honor the sacrifices and contributions of our veterans by offering comprehensive services that address their unique needs and assist them in successfully transitioning to civilian life. Additionally, we are deeply committed to breaking down the barriers that often hinder first-generation college students from achieving their educational dreams. By offering financial assistance, mentorship, and guidance, we empower these students to pursue higher education and unlock their full potential.
Supporting Vulnerable Communities
We recognize that there are other groups across Long Island that require our support. In collaboration with organizations such as the Family Service League and Tri-CYA, we extend our reach to provide assistance and security to less fortunate families. By joining forces, we amplify our impact, ensuring that those facing challenging circumstances receive the help they need to thrive.
Empowering First-Generation College Students
Education is a powerful tool for social and economic mobility, and we are passionate about making it accessible to all. Our commitment to first-generation college students is demonstrated through initiatives such as the Clark Gillies Scholarship. We are proud to have recently awarded a $25,000 grant to Farmingdale State College, establishing the Clark Gillies Scholarship in honor of the legendary hockey player’s contributions to our community. This scholarship serves as a beacon of hope, providing financial assistance to deserving first-generation college students, helping them overcome financial obstacles and pursue their academic dreams.
Get Involved
We believe that positive change is a collective effort. Join us in our mission to support veterans, first-generation college students, and other vulnerable groups by volunteering your time, making a donation, or becoming a mentor. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a significant impact and help us create a better future for those who have served our country, for those striving to achieve their educational aspirations, and for families in need of support and security.
