The Ferro Foundation was established in 2017. It’s first endeavor was to create a Scholarship Fund to help Long Island students finance their college education. The Foundation is committed to provide one 4 year scholarship of $2,500 per year to a student who meets certain community and academic qualifications.
This scholarship is available to Long Island (Nassau & Suffolk), NY residents attending a Long Island (Nassau & Suffolk), NY school who will be an incoming undergraduate freshmen seeking to complete a bachelor’s degree. The applicant must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA and complete both a personal statement and an essay. All majors of study are accepted.

Essay postmarked by December 1st, annually.
Winner chosen by January 15th, annually.
Final Transcript by June 30th, annually.
Please include information, in an essay, about your current financial obligations. Please be aware that if you are a finalist for the Ferro Foundation Scholarship, you will be required to provide documentation verifying your family’s annual income.
The personal statement must not exceed 500 words and include a persuasive reason as to why you are in financial need of the scholarship award and how a scholarship would help you complete your education.
The essay must answer the following prompt:
What are three (3) core values you believe a business should have to maintain a healthy work environment that can help it grow?
The essay must be 1,000 – 1,500 words.
